ORDINANCE NO. 7977

AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCHOLIC BEVERAGES ON CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY PURSUANT TO A SIDEWALK DINING LICENSE FOR THE MAD GREEK, 907 MASSACHUSETTS STREET.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

Section 1.         From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in the public right of way described as follows:  

Beginning at the southeast corner of lot 71 on Massachusetts Street; thence north 00 deg east, along the east line of said lot 71, 15.60 feet, thence north 90 deg east, 6.34 feet; thence south 00 deg west, 15.60 feet; thence south 90 deg west, 6.34 feet, to the point of beginning;

all pursuant to Section 4-105 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, December 31, 2003 Edition.  Provided, that the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on the above described property shall be pursuant to all applicable State and City laws, including but not limited to the requirements of the sidewalk dining license granted for the property.

Section 2.         This ordinance shall be effective from and after its publication as provided by law.
