BEDS, HYDRAULICS, SPREADERS, PLOWS FOR 1 TON TRUCKS –  PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT – #B06002

Public Works/Street Division requested bids for truck beds, hydraulics, spreaders, and plows for the new trucks purchased off the MACPP bid.  The low bid from Kranz of Kansas City did not bid a Western brand snow plow as required.  We currently have the Western brand snow plow as our standard plow on our 8 one ton trucks. We feel that it is to our advantage to stay with the Western Plows because of the ability to interchange plows between tucks when needed and the reduced need to stock wear items such as cutting edges and shoes.  The next low bid from Knapheide does meet all specifications.  This purchase was approved in the 2006 budgeting process.
