On November  15, 2005 The City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

0542 – STAINLESS STEEL MIXING EQUIPMENT – UTILITIES

VENDOR	TOTAL  BID
JCI Industries	$  47,400.00

Due to increased organic load at the wastewater treatment plant additional sludge storage and mixing is needed. When installed this equipment will provide mixing of the thickened sludge storage tank allowing for consistent mixed feed sludge to the anaerobic digesters. This will improve digester performance and help enhance belt press operation.  There were four bids sent to qualified vendors and the Notice To Bidders was placed on Demand Star but only one bid was received.  This purchase was approved in the 2005 budgeting process.

Recommendation:

Approve bid from JCI Industries for the Stainless Steel Equipment in the amount of $47,400.00. (Utilities/Wastewater Treatment Plant)
