Re: agenda item
Date: January 10, 2005
Please place the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at their January 18, 2005 meeting:
Nalco-Ultrion 8186 polymer, a water treatment chemical, needs to be ordered for the Clinton Water Treatment Plant. This product has been used at the Clinton Plant for approximately 13 years as the primary coagulant. The polymer is provided by only one vendor, at $0.495 per pound and staff requests approval to order product quantity for 9 months of usage. This is an increase of approximately 5% above the 2004 price. We are requesting approval to issue a purchase order to Nalco Chemical Company for $74,250.00 (includes freight) for 150,000 pounds of chemical. This purchase will be funded from the Clinton Treatment Plant’s chemical line item of the 2005 operating budget.
Thank you for your consideration of this request. Please let me know if you have any questions.
