Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the November 23, 2004 meeting:
Engineering Contracts – Reconstruction of Kasold Drive and Waterline Replacement from Bob Billings Parkway to 22nd Street
Final design plans and specifications for the construction of Kasold Drive from Bob Billings Parkway to 22nd Street, and waterline replacement/relocation. Scope of services includes providing staking of improvements for utility relocates and a public meeting to keep the neighborhood involved.
Project History.
May 2004 – City hired Bartlett and West Engineers to provide a preliminary design study.
October 6, 2004 – Four alternatives for the reconstruction of Kasold were presented to the City Commission at a study session.
October 21, 2004 – A fifth alternative was presented to the City Commission at the regular meeting. Option 5 took into account the comments of the previous study session. Staff was directed to proceed to design with this option.
Project Status.
Preliminary design memo complete.
Final design contract to City Commission, November 23, 2004.
Public meeting to be announced.
Utilities need to be kept up to speed.
Project Details. Option 5 includes the reconstruction of Kasold from Bob Billings Parkway to 22nd Street, including street, sidewalk and storm sewer:
Project Funding.
This project will be paid for with the issuance of general obligation bonds.
Expenses to Date: Preliminary Design - $158,740
Estimated construction cost: Street, Sidewalk, Storm Sewer - $3,742,590
The waterline will be paid by the Utilities Department from the Capital Improvement Fund.
Estimated construction cost: $750,000
