ORDINANCE NO. 7762
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, ANNEXING PROPERTY PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 12-520 ET SEQ.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:
SECTION I. The governing body finds that the tract of property described in Section II of this ordinance, hereby incorporated by reference as if fully described, adjoins the boundaries of the City of Lawrence, Kansas. The governing body further finds that the owners of the tract of property described in Section II have submitted a petition consenting to the annexation of the tract of property into the City of Lawrence, Kansas. The property is generally located north of Clinton Parkway and east 926’ from K-10 Highway (SLT). The Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission recommended annexation of said property on January 30, 2004. The City Commission voted to approve the annexation on March 1, 2004.
SECTION II. The following described tract of property is hereby annexed into the City of Lawrence, Kansas pursuant to K.S.A. 12-520 et seq., to-wit:
A PART OF LOT 1 IN LAKE ESTATES SUBDIVISION NO. 7 AND UNPLATTED TRACTS OF LAND IN THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 5, TOWNSHIP 13 SOUTH, RANGE 19 EAST IN DOUGLAS COUNTY, KANSAS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
COMMENCING AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER; THENCE SOUTH 87º58’15” WEST, ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER, A DISTANCE OF 418.14 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUE SOUTH 87º58’15” WEST, ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER, A DISTANCE OF 2234.41 FEET TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER THEREOF; THENCE NORTH 00º27’13” WEST, ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER, A DISTANCE OF 659.94 FEET (660.00 FEET, PLAT); THENCE NORTH 87º57’32” EAST, ALONG THE LINE COMMON WITH BREITHAUPT ACRES AND THE NORTHERLY LINE OF SAID LOT 1, A DISTANCE OF 510.38 FEET (510.00 FEET, PLAT); THENCE NORTH 00º27’32” WEST (NORTH 00º27’13” WEST, PLAT) ALONG THE LINE COMMON WITH THE EAST LINE OF BREITHAUPT ACRES AND THE WEST LINE OF SAID LOT 1, A DISTANCE OF 513.06 FEET (513.55, PLAT) TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID LOT 1; THENCE NORTH 87º52’19” EAST (NORTH 87º54’05” EAST, PLAT), ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 1, A DISTANCE OF 1022.08 FEET; THENCE NORTH 88º03'05" EAST (NORTH 87º57’29” EAST, PLAT) ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 1, A DISTANCE OF 392.18 FEET (392.20 FEET, PLAT) TO THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID LOT 1; THENCE CONTINUE NORTH 88º03’05” EAST A DISTANCE OF 27.66 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 07º44’08” EAST A DISTANCE OF 154.25 FEET TO A POINT ON THE EAST LINE OF SAID LOT 1; THENCE SOUTH 17º40’36” EAST, ALONG THE EAST LINE OF SAID LOT 1, A DISTANCE OF 870.00 FEET TO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER THEREOF; THENCE SOUTH 02º01’45” EAST, A DISTANCE OF 182.60 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, CONTAINING 2,205,865 SQUARE FEET OR 50.6397 ACRES, MORE OR LESS.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
