The School Resource Officers brought information about the dangers of alcohol, including a continual slide show presentation with pictures of alcohol related crashes, alcohol awareness and several aspects of the police department. Several "drunk" vision goggles were available for participants to wear to demonstrate the different degrees of alcohol impairment. Officers also fielded general and specific questions about alcohol and D.U.I. laws, and different areas of law enforcement.
City Clean Up Efforts Promoted Campaign Flyer
To assist residents with spring cleaning, several existing city services and programs were wrapped into a single package and launched in an educational campaign on April 1st. Services offered by Public Works, Parks and Recreation and Utilities were grouped into categories to help people clean out the garage, basement, clean up the yard, work in the yard and clean up a park. A media release and fact sheet was distributed, advertising placed, a flyer distributed (attached), web pages created, slides added to channel 25 and neighborhood associations will receive a letter from the Mayor. To encourage citizens to learn about the programs, a tree is being given away to individuals that view the web page and enter the drawing.
