Re:             Monterey Way – Stetson to Peterson

On February  10 2004 the City Commission conducted the public hearing on the maximum assessments for this improvement.   I wrote Dr. Brunfeldt in response to some of her concerns that she raised at the City Commission meeting.  In a telephone conversation today with Dr. Brunfeldt  I discussed this and related issues.  I advised her that that maximum special assessment ordinance would be on the April 13, 2004 City Commission agenda. Dr. Brunfeldt indicated that she had spoken with a representative of the property to her north (Spring Hill) and that she was satisfied that they would honor their contract to pay the special assessments placed on the Brunfeldt property.  Dr. Brunfeldt did not object in proceeding with the ordinance.  However, she did indicate that she was sending a letter to the City expressing her continuing concern about the cost of the road improvement and drainage issues associated with the road and surrounding development.   I offered to facilitate a meeting with the Monterey Way design engineer (Landplan Engineering) and appropriate City staff to discuss these issues with her and other interested area property owners.  Dr. Brunfeldt indicated that she would contact me when a time was available.
