Re: Agenda Item
Date: February 24, 2004
Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the March 2, 2004 meeting:
Flow Monitoring Equipment for Inflow/Infiltration Studies
Utility Department - Wastewater Collection Division:
Project History. The Utilities Department Collection Division has several programs that involve wastewater flow measurement and analysis. These programs are in place to facilitate the removal of inflow and infiltration (I&I) from the wastewater collection system in line with 2003 Wastewater Master Plan recommendations.
Project Status. The Utilities Department developed specifications and solicited bids for replacement of some older model flow meters and acquisition of some additional flow meters. Bids were opened on February 24, 2004. Heartland Controls was the sole bidder. The equipment bid by Heartland Controls meets all specifications.
Action Request. The Utilities Department is seeking approval from the City Commission to purchase six (6) Flo-Tote 3’s and two (2) Flo-Dars from Heartland Controls for the amount of $31,965. Funding for this item will come from the Utility Department Capital Improvement fund (501-7800-588-6030).
Thank you for your assistance. Please advise if you have any questions.
